Berkshire Coalition for Suicide Prevention and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) are co-hosting this event, which is a part of International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day, created to bring together people affected by suicide loss in their local communities, to find comfort and gain understanding as they share stories of healing and hope.
The day begins at 9 a.m. with registration and breakfast refreshments, followed at 9:30 by a welcome and screening of “A Daughter’s Journey,” an AFSP-produced documentary film of young adult’s experience with life, coping and growth after the loss of her father. A discussion of the film and sharing of attendees’ stories will follow at 10:00 am. The morning concludes with a healing activity: the creation of memorial candles and ornaments for participants to take home.
The event is free and open to the public; ample parking is available.
