About Us

Our Mission is to prevent suicide through advocacy, education and collaboration.

Established in 2009, Berkshire Coalition for Suicide Prevention is part of a network of regional coalitions throughout Massachusetts. Our members consist of survivors of suicide loss and concerned citizens representing a variety of fields and industries, including health, law enforcement, education, social work, mental health and public policy. Together, we collaborate to build resilience in our communities, educate the public and strengthen the response to the community need. Through these efforts, we:

  • Advocate for public policy issues and budgets

  • Assist at-risk individuals and populations

  • Educate about risk factors for suicide and self-harm

  • Partner with schools, agencies, and providers

  • Provide resources and support groups

  • Reduce stigma and break barriers to self-help

  • Secure funding from public and private sources

Join us at local activities, join our email list or contact us to be a guest at our monthly board meeting. For more information or questions about ways you can become involved, contact us at president@berkshirecoalition.org.
